Personal Bailout Device

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Project Brief: As a member of Bearcat Launchpad 2015 (A University of Cincinnati student business accelerator), I joined another student who had the idea of creating some kind of small device that could help lower to the ground someone who was trapped in a high rise fire. Through the program, we received insight from both the brightest minds in Cincinnati and the top venture capitalists and entrepreneurs in the world. At the end of this program, we had designed and tested a working prototype that could lower someone to the ground at a steady pace, completely hands free. With this, we were awarded first place in the program and preliminary funding. My last work with this project was helping to build a cross discipline team that is now in process of  trying to take this product to market.
Process, Experience, and Learning: Starting with pencil drawings and small scale tests with sample materials, this project represents countless hours of development. As with any startup, I took on and gained experience in virtually all aspects of this project. Throughout the whole process, one of my main tasks was to clearly communicate both the visual aspects and the story of our company. Other key contributions include technology research and application, 3D renderings, presentation graphics, product design, and testing.
